This pretty hairstyle works on hair that is nape length or longer, and on all hair types. It involves a topsy tail technique, which can be done without using an actual ‘topsy tail”
It basically means that you make a ponytail, then reach through the top of the base of the ponytail and grab the end, and pull it through, so it twists both sides. May I suggest that you adorn this pretty half-crown hairstyle with a dainty flower crown?
First, you will divide the hair into 4 vertical sections, and secure them with small elastics into ponytails. Then, you will topsy tail all 4 ponytails. Then, beginning on one side, take the outside ponytail and half of the one next to it and twist it into a messy little bun, then pin it to secure.
Then, taking the last half of your second ponytail and the first half of the third, twist and pin another bun.
Now, take the last half of the third ponytail and the whole 4th ponytail, twist, and pin into a bun.
Pin in any loose pieces, and voila! a dynamic and beautiful twisted style. Add flowers to give it a bridal touch!
Behold, the Witch braid bun. Thanks to Alix, style maven of the occult. She submitted this awesome DIY hair creation to share, further driving HTHG’s fall Witch Style obsession. She writes in from NYC…
“Been stopped on the street literally 3 times today and it’s all thanks to you! Tried a little french braid action on myself, and sucking at the weird back of the head spots almost made it better/messier/witchy-er?!”
Love it. Will you try the Braided witch bun?

This is so easy it made me second guess almost everything I have ever learned in my life. Okay, maybe that is a bit dramatic, but this style is really a lot easier than it looks.
I have shied away from the Hair Bow because it always looks so polished and my frazzly busy mama hair and I run and hide from polished looks. But, I checked out this tutorial from the fabulous www.lovemeagan.com and turned my Arkansas mountain mama hair into a rather cute and soft looking Hair bow. My neighbor told me I look like minnie mouse, and I have to agree. But I feel semi-polished. I just need a shower and a much cuter outfit. Try it!
